I did a little searching and only found dead ends from around 2004. Do they still import these? I remember reading somewhere about legal trouble with Vietmanese parts or whatnot. Is this accurate?

If they can be found stateside, please post links/ where you got the info.

Thanks and Best Regards.

P.S. I know about SIA, but was interested in AIA specifically (7.62 from the ground up instead of a conversion).

I see them somewhat regularly at the Gander MTN in Joliet, IL. Don't know if you can get one sent out to a local one by you from them.

This won't help now, but in Feb. one year ago we stayed at the Sheraton Four Points 'Fashion Square', in Saginaw, MI.

Across the street I handled the AIA Carbine at Gander Mt. It was listed at about $750.
If the same manager is there he should have an idea as to why that store had one in early '09.

There was still (the last of the) surplus .303 ammo available back then and this led me to buy an original in .303, the first of two.
If the AIA version can be found at an acceptable price, the avail./affordable x39 ammo could make it worthwhile.

The AIA Enfields are still banned from importation by the US State Department (import/trade restrictions).

A few thousand AIA M10As were imported into the USA prior to the ban.
The Gander Mountain chain recieved/sold the AIA Enfields.

They show up every now and then at varying Gander Mountain stores and on the auction sites.
Used ones sell for around $700-800.

Thank you I ended buying that one at GM in Saginaw after reading your post about it last year. I ended up talking them down to $650, guess it had been sitting there awhile.
