Where is Jim Scouttens new show?

On his web-site is still the announcement that it starts in August (2003!!!)

Are they still playing games with his show? At least OLN has all the reruns of "American Shooter", and I watched every one of them at least 3 times.

OLN is already threatening to show us the "Tour de France 2004" starting somewhere in April. So, just get it in your calendar, that you'll see nothing else than bicycling 24/7 for 3 months.

Too bad, I don't get the outdoors channel. Time for a dish, I think.

Shooting Gallery

I get the Outdoor Channel on Dish TV...I had high hopes for this new show, "Shooting Gallery"............After seeing four episodes I think I'll use my Dish for target practice.

I know...I'm stoked! Only an American could go to Europe and dominate 'thier' sport in such a fashion. I just wish they'd show some Cyclocross in the fall.....oh well....

I do wish, however, that theyd start in with some friggin new American Shooter episodes, already. I do enjoy the episode where they get with Dillon and play with his quad-duece, but I've seen it way too many times!

This one really frosts me

Jim was at the IDPA Winter Championship at S&W in 2003 and announced at the banquet his new show qould be airing that June. Nothing :MAD: and he does not answer E Mails.

Next Jim was given an exclusive for coverage of USPSA events. Still Nothing.

He seems to have fallen off the face of the earth and is not living up to his promise of coverage of these major events.

He will probably be selling the videos

It is really a shame he chose to let us all down.

I don't mind reruns. Sometimes I like reruns. HOwever I can only take so many times watching the same American Shooter episodes. I haven't had the Outdoor Life Network in about a year now. WHen I visit someone who has it and American Shooter is on, it always a rerun.

I'd love it if they made more episodes of American Shooter.

I did see a new show with Jim Scoutten. I think that it was called American Safari or something like that.

I suppose that the constant reruns are telling me to read more or get out and shoot, fish or hunt more.

Where's Scoutten? I don't know, but personally I am glad the bike racing season is here, I too have grown tired of all the reruns. Has anyone looked for Jim over at ar15 forum? I know he used to be there more than here.......tom

Then I won't give away much, except:
1) Pretty good finish, but not overly dramatic
2) They must have been cruising, because the live feed that started at
0730 local cut in with about 25K or so left in the race. I think the leaders were crossing the finish line about 0805 (OLN had 0730-0900 blocked for the show)

it's surprising to see other cycling fans here, well maybe it shouldn't surprise me at all. Does anyone know why heras left the team? or was it rubiera?

Anyway scouten is also on american rifleman i think that dude is on like 5 shows. I wish there were some way we could get a hold of the American Shooter producers and tell them we would all love more episodes. The most recent thing I saw them do was a p22 review. I'd like to see them run the new Sig, the SW500, the para LDA with that neat internal extractor, and the berretta carbine, not that i can have one here. If someone finds contact info we can start hammerin em for answers.

It was Heras. He's been Armstrong's helper for awhile, he's not getting any younger. and he was offered a lucrative contract with the new team as its captain (sorry, the teams name escapes me now).

Popularity must be a real two edged sword for Jim. We like his products, but also end up sounding like we think he has total responsibility for providing quality products. Maybe some others should take a hint and join in. Wouldn't it be great if quality firearms programs would propagate like those boring reality shows.

Where is American Rifleman airing? I need my fix even if it is a light hit.

Has anyone seen Samurai Sportsman? The show has some shooting episodes listed.

out of all the "Hey, Jim, welcome to the forum!" hoopla on his few posts he made when he had something that needed viewers.

I am sure he is too busy to post regularly, but ignoring e-mails isn't a surprise either.

HIS job is on TV.

I was just wondering whether OLN is a camouflaged TNN.

As much as I love alot of the shows on OLN, IMHO they are trying to wear too many hats.
Skiing
Shooting sports
hunting
fishing
cycling
bull riding
'beach ambush'
High 5 ('edgy' outdoors show)
surfing
and a few more.
Seems they are all over the map on thier target audience. Nobody loves every bit of the outdoors. Some of my cycling friends complain about the hunting and fishing. Seems like a ridiculously hard balance to strike, and usually there is a little overkill (like hours of bullriding, or half a day of fishing shows)
And it sounds like they might overdo the pre-Tour De France shows. I'm stoked about the race coverage, but thier pre-race hype is almost as bad as the Super Bowl hype

I happened to catch scouten on OLN today talkinga bout how he would be hosting alot of the shooting events and some new show sorry I didn't hear the name, but he said new shows would be airing soon, so maybe some hope. Maybe some one else saw the spot.

Its interesting how some folks blame Jim Scoutten for not providing a new shooting show on OLN.

IMO, I think Jim has had some footage, if not full shows, produced and ready to air. They were peddeled to OLN. Whether OLN bought them or not, who knows? In the end, it is OLN who decides if it is aired or not and for now, it is not.

If you think you can provide a better newer show and get it on the air right now, have at it. Otherwise,
