I just started reloading and right now reloading for my .40 s&w . I'm wondering the best place to buy bullets either online or mail order. I plan on branching out to load for my. 380 also id like a place with a good selection.

I've been using X-Treme Bullets for a few years now in 380, 9mm, 45 ACP, and 30 Carbine. Good prices (Includes shipping) and prompt shipping. They have plated, lead, and bullets coated with that black crap. I've only use the plated and never had a problem.

I'm with J_McLeod.

I like Missouri Bullet and Rocky Mountain because both are small businesses with incredibly competitive pricing, fast service, great people, and great product. I have learned the last few years the importance of supporting a small businessman, and when I can get a good deal while doing so, that's win/win.

Zero is another good jacketed bullet that, in quantity, can be had for less than or just slightly more than plated prices.

All I load now is Berry's Plated Bullets, and for the .40S&W I buy 180gr FP, and my choice is Powder Valley. Great service and fast shipping and the best prices for Berry's that I have found. They are $99.00 for 1000 and the shipping I think was about $8.00.

They don't have a shipping calculator for the website it is added after you place the order so don't worry they won't rip you off on shipping, last time I ordered 2000 from them shipping was only $14.00

Powder valley has Missouri lead, Berry's plated and Zero jacketed bullets for good price - http://www.powdervalleyinc.com/

MBC 170 gr SWC - $70/1000
MBC 180 gr TCFP - $73/1000
Berry's 155 gr FP - $96/1000
Berry's 165/180 gr FP - $99/1000
Zero 165 gr FMJ - $115/1000
Zero 180 gr FMJ - $121/1000

TJ Coneveras carries Berry's and X-Treme plated bullets at good price, especially when they run sales - http://www.tjconevera.com/bullets.html

Berry's 155/165 gr FP/FPHB - $110/1000 (free shipping)
Berry's 180 gr FP/RS - $112/1000 (free shipping)
X-Treme 155/165 gr RNFP - $102/1000 (free shipping)
X-Treme 180 gr RNFP - $110/1000 (free shipping)

+1 for RMR and his inventory changes regularly so keep an eye on his website and stock up when you see the bullets you want. Great source for jacketed/plated/pulled pistol/rifle bullets with free shipping even on smaller quantities below 1000 - http://www.shop.rmrbullets.com/main.sc

180 gr Sierra TMJ (pulled) - $90/1000 (free shipping)
155 gr FMJ (pulled) - $97/1000 (free shipping)

Since you wanted to branch out to .380, RMR has some 95gr TMJ for 66/1000 shipped. They're fully covered and cheaper than lead. I bought 500 and they work great in my LCP.

I've used and been very satisfied with Berry's, Missouri Bullet Co., and Precision Delta.

Dardas and MasterCast and Penn Bullets all produce top quality cast bullets and I use all three.
For good prices on jacketed bullets I bought many at the gun show from Pat McDonald in Ohio who also runs a mail order operation and deals in brass and surplus powders at good prices.

I have shot a lot of bullets from rmrbullets and they are pretty awesome. But then again I own RMR so I am very biased. That said, if I was buying for myself and I was okay with shooting lead I would probably buy from Missouri Bullet Company.

Don't know where you live but if you ever travel interstate 80. Stop by Hornady in Grand Island, NE. They sell blems very cheap and I can't tell why they are blems.

Also, Midway USA sells Hornady blems.

At least I have stopped and purchased many different calibers.

Another vote here for Montana Gold. I've also shot X-Treme plated and they were good as well. Montana Gold bullets are just cooler looking.
