I have been searching everywhere here and can't find the answer to my question so I decided to start a new thread.

Where is the cheapest place that I can buy ammo for any caliber?

Any retailers online?

The problem is that I ordered a Walther P99 in .40 instead of 9mm, and my friend brought it to my attention that the .40 is going to hit the wallet harder than the 9mm when I want to go tager practice at the shooting range.

Why not use the search function? This is a horse beaten to death! With that said the usual suspects might include.

Ammoman @ www.ammoman.com
Monthly Specials at Natchez @ www.natchezss.com
Local Gunshows with your cash in hand on Sunday afternoons
Wally World Winchester Value Packs of 100.

Wal Mart may be your best bet... they have 100 round winchester packs in .40 for around $15-16 and 50 round boxes of blazer brass for just under $8.

It doesn't get much better than that, unless you're willing to buy wolf which you can get as low a $6 for 50 if you hunt around...

any of you that have a .40 and/or have a p99 what ammo brand do you buy the most frequently? what is the most bang for the buck

p99 owner here in .40 SW.
Winchester white box feeds fine, you cant go wrong w/ that price. 15-16 bucks a box, thats... about 80 bucks for 500 rounds you cant beat that!

I personally am tired of paying the higher prices for ammo so I am still waiting for my local gun place to get them certified sigs.. I am wanting a 9mm.

BTW I have fired blazer brass, WWB, federal, remington, and american eagle aka federal all have cycled fine w/ my p99. No problems what so ever. Mine has been excellent. I am glad I purchased mine.

Quit screwing about searching for ammo and reload. It's not cheaper, but the endless search for ammo goes away. And you're shooting ammo that's made for your firearm.

Sunray,
Don't know where you're buying your compotents, but reloading can indeed be cheaper than the cheapest of factory ammo. I reload for half a dozen pistol calibers using cast bullets, WLPP, and Bullseye powder. My cost for compotents is in the range of $5-6 per hundred. Shooting in the volume I do, (IDPA & Steel) this represents a huge savings. I just buy the 9mm stuff at Academy @ $80 per thousand to take a break from the loading bench. Just getting old and lazy.
Cheers,

Natchez is just trying to protects it's dealer network by not selling to the select states mentioned above!

Where can I buy the cheapest 9mm ammo and where can I buy the best 9mm ammo, and what is the difference between the good and bad in addition to the difference in primer.???????????????????????????????????????????????/

I buy Blazer brass .40 at Walmart in 50 round boxes. They are 7.94 at my local WM. They acually are a few cents cheaper than the Winchester value pack wich is like 15.97 per 100 and I like the Blazer better. The Blazer is more expensive in 9mm for some reason, so I buy Winchester VP in 9mm.

I went to walmart yesterday, and after a prior shock to see that WWB .40sw was 20 bucks, I found out that it was just marked wrong. its still in the 15 dolllar range.

I seen they had 100 packs of 9mm for 11 bucks :what:

I need to get a 9mm.
