Looking to buy a 550b to reload 223/556 but can not find one anywhere. Any suggestions?

Thanks-

Not where but when. While Bush 2 was in office would have been a good time. Better was when Reagan was in office. I would hate to see their waiting list for just the guys who are out of 9mm and 5.56. If you have to have it now, buy what you can find even if a single stage and then wait for production to catch up.

There are none, not in stock, anywhere.

All you can do is place an order(I'd suggest Brian Enos) and wait for it to get there, about 8 weeks after you order.

I'm just glad I bought a set of .223 dies early in December. My LCT pumps out the rounds fast enough until Dillon can send me the conversion for my 650(about 8 weeks away from now).

.223 is ridiculous right now. *shrug*

I ordered from Dillon the first week in January.
There was a box on my porch 2 weeks later!
Good luck to you

I pulled out my Dillon setup for 5.56, ordered a small base carbide sizing die had been putting off for years, some Lake City brass and 3,000 primers I bought for a person in here and started pulling the handle. It gave me plenty of room to sell a couple thousand rounds of commercial .223 for goofy/crazy money. Almost hate to see the bubble end but have to restock for the next one some time.

You're right. Atleast there's no current ban on a reloader...just a wait. Patience is a virtue. I'll join the line....

Patience is a virtue and experience the best teacher, thus the reason I was not caught short this time. Hope my luck continues and others learn the lesson. While I am not inherently .smart, I am teachable.

Check out Scheels. I ordered one from the Mankato, MN. location about a week ago. $14 (to Muscatine, IA) for shipping and it was here in 3 days. They have other locations throughout the midwest. I just started calling all of the stores until I found one. Good luck :)

I just bought a new 550 frame direct from Dillon. Ordered it 2-1-13 got it here 2-7-13. I was expecting to wait so it was a pleasant surprise.

If you have a Scheels, check there. Two weeks ago, last time I was there, they had SD, 550 and 650s on the shelf for sale, along with primers and powder.

Why buy something used on Ebay which is run by an anti-gun group based in California? You can buy directly from Dillon and in Post #12 it's reported he got his press from Dillon in only 7 days!

Ebay hates guns and anything that has to do with "bullets" or what the "bullet" touches. (like barrels and empty brass)

I just purchased 650 from Dillon and they are saying 6-8 weeks for delivery. Sounds like it may take me that long to get hold of primers and powder anyway.

The other problem with using Ebay is the pricing. I saw a Dillon 550B with the .223 caliber kit for over a $1000. I guess if you really need one that bad, go for it. Why not find a buddy and "borrow" a little time on his until things quiet down and the prices get back to sane?

Reds Trading Post in Idaho sells Dillon products on ebay and all their stuff is new. I've bought quite a bit from them over last couple years and it's all been perfect.

This place might have some supplies. I picked up some bullets a few weeks back. Last time I stopped in, they were starting to get a little thin on components.

Hope my SDB sells for what I want on eBay so I can step up to a 550!

Anyone else have a lead on a Dillon 550B that is in stock before I order one from Enos?
