A friend of mind wants to buy some .410 2 1/2" shotshell hulls, says folks give him all the 12 gauge empties he needs but he can't find any .410 empties.

Anyone have some or know where we can find some inexpensive hulls?

I can't answer your question, but I have a suggestion -

Buy Winchester AA HS shells to get high quality reloadable hulls. These can be loaded to slightly higher velocities than other hulls, and they are very consistent in diameter, providing a reliable feed in fussy shotguns (such as the Winchester 9410...)

I think they can be reloaded a few more times than Remington SP's, IMO.

Too bad I threw away about a hundred of them a month ago!

NNNOOOOooooooo!!!!!

I don't even own a .410, and that pains me to hear. Those babies are like little gold nuggets.

All the guys at my club have black, sooty burned up old AA hulls that have been loaded a dozen times. One old guy actually brought a brand new box of .410 AA's in a few months ago, and everyone crowded around and said things like, "whoa, Dennis! Feelin' rich this month, eh?" I suspect these 60-80 year old guys would dive headfirst after and hull that hit the ground.

Another friend told me he just threw out two or three boxes worth recently, too. I didn't realize they were in such high demand. I just got the bright idea to check gunbroker. Looks like 15 to 20 cents each is the going rate for good Winchester hulls.

I could buy 1000 for $150, but that's already double what I paid for the gun
(Old Iver Johnson Arms and Cycle Works single shot).:)

Ballistic Products sells new 410 hulls.. otherwise it is best to buy them and pick them up yourself after firing them.

I have a box of Fiocchi 2 1/2" shells I am working my way thru.

I guess I'll offer them up when I have shot them all.

Thanks for the link, rg1.

Are Fiocchi hulls good?

$54.79 for 500 new, primed hulls looks like a good deal, if they're good hulls.

Keep checking at Precision Reloading. I bought once fired Rem SP 2.5" hulls there once. They come and they go...

$54.79 for 500 is just about 11 cents each hull. IMO you would be better off waiting for a sale and buying a case or two of 410 ammo and using the hulls from the shot ammo. It will cost you more but you get to shoot it the first time and then use the hulls. I'm only suggesting the ammo because the hulls are so expensive.

Well, I think we're going to buy some hulls and wads. It looks like either the Fiocchi or Cheddite hulls. Considering that they're new and primed, it doesn't seem like a bad deal.

I really don't know much about either brands. Anyone use them? Is one better than the other? I'm really not much into shotguns. This will just be for informal clay targets using a single shot.
