If you are looking for stuff to help with barrel cleaning go to the household cleaning section at your local supermarket and buy a pack of chore girl copper scrubbing pads. Cut the retaining clamp unrol and cut a rectanular section about the length of a worn out brush of the appropriate caliber wrap a couple turns around the brush and voila a first class lead remover. If you are looking for some for metal or wood finishing try one of the wood worker catalogs like Rckler or head to Brownells.
FWIW, I have often recommended brass or copper wool for removing light rust. For lead removal in revolver cylinders and handgun barrels, I much prefer the Lewis Lead Remover, which is made for the job.
Places that sell marine supplies usually have bronze wool. It is used to finish varnish so the embedded shards don't rust. I think Home Depot also sells it. It looks like steel wool. It is NOT a pot scrubber.
I use Breakfree CLP with bronze wool for rust removal. The CLP is a very good corrosion inhibitor and moisture displacement agent and will penetrate the residual rust left in pits to help keep it from progressing.
The Chore Boy pot scrubber (or similar) is what you want for bore cleaning or as Jim said, the Lewis (Hoppes) lead remover depending on what type of gun you are trying to clean..
