Greetings all.
Have been lurking in this area for a while, prior to purchasing my first SG. All I needed to do was lurk for my information
Ended up finding a used (Seemed to be mostly a closet queen, barely shot) Mossy 500A for $115.
I have function tested the gun with #8 birdshot, primarily because that is what I am limited too at my home range. Hence my question.
I seem to be having trouble finding ranges in N. CA that will allow me to shoot anything over #8 and under slugs. Primarily I want to test out various sizes of buckshot and determine function, recoil, patterning etc, so I know what to keep with the thing. Plus, I need to practice.
So is it usual for ranges not to allow the use of buck shot? If so, what do people do to get around it. I could go to BLM land, but that is fairly far. I am in the Sacramento CA area, so if anyone knows anywhere to go, let me know.
