Help me out here, somebody. I used to buy cheap Chinese 9x18mm ammo to feed my Makarovs all the time. I haven't seen any chinese ammo lately at all. Where did it all go?
I would have thought that with all the Russian ammo going to South America or where ever. and prices spiking that wholesalers would be buying boatloads of 9x18, 7.62x39, and the other popular "commie calibers" from the Chinese. It would be a real opportunity for the Chinese to roll out the equivalent of Wolf ammo in some new, pretty packaging and get a hold of a big share of the American sports shooter market.
Am I nuts? Are there some sort of treaties to prevent this? Anybody who works with ammo suppliers chime in.
Thanks,
Apple

I thought there were no more Chinese firearms &ammo imports for more than a few yeares. Damn, I MISS the old spam cans of copperwashed steel cored&cased 7.62....and the 7.62X25 I used to get for a song! Alas, even if they wee still importable,I reside in MA., where the AG has spent several years screwing over the citizens of the Commonwealth.:cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss:

Have you been living in a cave?

Clinton banned the importation of Chinese guns and ammo years ago.......Lately, I have heard reports that some of the Albanian ammo being sold is actually Chinese in Albanian crates.......one way to get around the ban......chris3

It’s a little more involved than “Bill Clinton kept us from doing business with them.”

China North Industries (Norinco) is listed as a denied party by the Fedgov. That means nobody in the US can do business with them. They are a state-owned Chinese arms manufacturer. In addition to manufacturing ammunition they also produce a myriad of other weapons components which have wound up in places like North Korea and Iran. Some of these components have been for ballistic missiles which is a big no-no. Their providing ballistic missile parts to Iran and the DPRK have worked to ensure that folks in the US will be barred from ever doing business with them again.

Lucky, it isn't about price per se. The price of Wolf 7.62x39mm has doubled around here in the last six months and if some shops actually have it in stock then it's rationed... only five boxes per day or so. :what: I keep hearing they'll get shipments in soon but no far only dribbles and that goes to pre-orders at silly markups.

No, I actually live in a townhouse, not a cave. As I mentioned in the original post I have been buying chinese ammo for years, probably hoarded by that particular supplier and it finally ran out. All he's had lately is S&B and a little silver/brown Bear ammo. The guns I buy are for shooting, not sitting in a box looking pretty so I like cheap ammo. I miss it. If this keeps up I'll start reloading my own stuff.
