Got my choice down to Bersa 45 ACP American Classic or RIA GI Milspec 45 ACP. Any suggestions pro or con on these pistiols? They both seem fairly close to each other. Any comments/ experience with one or the other would be great. Thanks for your input in advance.

I'd say Rock Island just bc I like that company's quality control and products a little better than Bersa.

I'm glad you posted this. I wasnt even aware of a nib 1911 .45 was out there and this good for $400! The one on the left is the RIA, the other one is Bersa. Looks and sounds like a fairly even match. I still like RIA better.

I like my RIA. Unless you are into modding on your own or really want the old skool GI look, I would suggest ponying up the extra $$$ for the Tactical model. Better sights, better trigger, ambi safety and beavertail for about $50-$70 more. You won't get them installed for that.

Out of the two, I would choose the "RIA GI Milspec 1911". That's a hard one.

(Bersa) [Pros]: Low Price, lighter trigger pull, beavertail grip safety, left hand friendly (not ambidextrous), very accurate, fires HP flawlessly, and an extended slide release and safety. [Cons]: Bad Sights, and Odd Magazine.

(RIA GI Milspec) [Pros]: It has everything that the Bersa has but, the sights are great and the magazine is more comfortable. [Cons]: No beavertail grip safety (compared to Bersa), and very very rare FTF Problems.

I still would choose the Rock Island Armory GI Milspec 1911.
