I'm going to the Harrisburg, PA Gun Show tomorrow with the buddy who introduced me to shooting. They'll have (1200) display tables there, so I'll have a chance to put my hands on lots of models for feel/fit.

Folks,
Grampy is coming back with plenty of beef jerky, a report on how good the chili dawg he had for lunch was, and a bruise on his leg from walking smooth dab into a table watching a pair of tight jeans being worn by a young gal.

Coming back with a firearm is optional.

*grin*

Tight jeans can make shows interesting. :)

Buckmark or Ruger Mark III with 5.5" heavy barrel would be my choice. So, how did the show go and did you see any tight jeans? Too cold for many other sights.

I am hoping he shares the beef jerky. *grin*

My experience with gun shows has been, the good looking honey in tight jeans, cowboy boots and hat, know where the classic revolvers, and lever action rifles are .
The good looking honey in tight jeans, tennis shoes and cowboy hat knows where the 1911s, BHPs , Bolt rifles, and shotguns are.

Both know what is best on the menu at the concession, and which joint in town has the best steak.

I also pay attention to grandma and grandpa types. These folks know folks, and where some of the real goodies are.

Guns like Colt Woodsman, Hi-Standard, Model 18s and the like.

Grandma's are hilarious, they will find a Browning Automatic .22 rifle and buy it, and grandpa will say "oh, you bought granddaughter a rifle?"

Grandma will reply - "No you old coot! This one is for me, she is your granddaughter so you buy her the other one just like I had the vendor set back with your name on it."

Which grandpa does... *lol*

Thanks for the hilarious comments on the Gun Show:)

There were a few tight-fitted jeans models there. Also, next to the gun show exhibits, there was a Cheerleading Competition----how wild is that combo?

There was a huge crowd at the show. I was able to handle some of the Buckmark models and they seemed to fit me quite well. I also looked at several 9mm pistols---namely, Springfield Armory XD's and the just released XDM's. The XDM felt a little better than the XD, grip-wise, but both guns seemed top-heavy to me.

I was also looking to handle a CZ 75, but could only find a CZ 100. I like the CZ's for my followup defense gun after I get the .22. There was a Steyr 9mm that felt good, but I have yet to research that gun.

My buddy had a list of items he wanted to buy, but only came home with a bunch of plastic ammo boxes. He wanted to get holsters for the Ruger .357 revolver and Buckmark he brought wiith him, but did not find any he liked.

We covered the entire show, then went to a nice steakhouse near York, PA on the way back to Delaware for a nice meal and a couple of cold ones.
All-in-all, a very nice time.

I am going to buy my Buckmark the first week after the holidays and get enrolled in an initial training class-----many thanks again for all the help on this forum.

Grampy

P.S.---There was a huge amount of rifles at this show, but not so many handguns.

Folks,

Grampy forgot us and did not bring us any beef jerky. *oh nooo*

Oh well one of you aspiring country song writers does have something to work with ....

Buckmarks, Cheerleaders and Cold Coca-Cola.

I recommend an adjustible sight Ruger MII/III. I used to have one. They're reliable, accurate, affordable guns that will do everything from plinking to vermin control, to bullseye competition.
