S&W Classics: who has one?

I thought about a new Model 1917 since my old Model 1917 is one of my favorites. I am not sure if the new model has any improvements from the original.

My Model 1926 .44 was stolen some years ago and I would like another .44 Special 4 inch for CCW. It is on the list, about half way down!

I really want a case colored M40 lemon squeezer, but $929 MSRP? come on. Has anyone actually seen one for sale yet, and at what price?

I fondled one at a local shop last month - it was sweet, I had dreams about it for days. I think it was ticketed at $689 and I just about swallowed my tongue.

Therein lies the problem. The true classics can usually be had for less $$$. Think about it. If you had a choice between a replica 427 Cobra S/C for $50k or an original for $40k, assuming identical condition, which would you pick?

I know, they don't really sell for those prices (that'd be sweet), just for illustration purposes.

Uh, does the Thunder Ranch Special Model 21 count? I have two. Other than the grips, they're just nicely done 21s. I'm a "retro" sort of guy but have large hands.

I have a TRR m22-4 it is a great revolver, despite the lock. Mine has nice blue and really nice stocks. I found it in the used case for $450 back in June. My only gripe is the apparent burs around the outside edge of the forcing cone.

I've seen a few more in dear cases since then, but none of them seemed as nice as mine (at least the stocks), which I find odd.

I agree with jad0110. Why would I pay more for a cheapened knock off, with all the current "innovations", when I can get the real thing for less?

I have a model 629 Classic. 44Mag 8 3/8" barrel topped with a Leupold 2X.

Its not on the page highlighted though!

Odd, it says Classic right on the barrel!
