I like the Deerfield also. I didn't mention it because it was not the type of gun that was asked for. Now that it has been brought up it is a great gun and will fire five rounds (one chamber and four in clip) as fast as you can pull the trigger. Only downsize is full power loads must be used and hard plastic curved butplate is not easy on shoulder and the lub from cast bullets gum up the works so jacketed bullets must be used.

I just ordered a Henry Big Boy .44 Mag like the pic by RatDog68 to go along with My Super RedHawk .44. They sure are pretty!

This would be me pouting with extreme jealousy !!! :D Congrats on it... they sure shoulder nicely... one day... one day...

I want one to go with my Ruger Super BlackHawk (3screw) .44mag.

.44 Mag

I've one of the older, pre-Deerfield Ruger carbines and a Marlin model 94, pre-safety. Both will shoot into a ragged hole about 1 1/2 " or so at 50 yards. The Ruger is scoped with a 1x4 variable and the Marlin has std irons. Ruger is timed for 240 grain bullet, jacketed only due to the gas system.

The best value in very accurate 44 Mag ammo is the Win white box.
