I am looking to buy my second 5.56 (My first is of course a AR) and I am torn between 3 rifles a FS2000 (optic model), SL8-6, and a MSAR(optic Model). The FS and SL8 are both New and running right at $2000. However the MSAR has had around 300 rounds through it and comes with 5 42 round mags. It will be $1600. I was orginally looking for a bullpup with Optic but once I held the SL8 it felt amazing in the hands and plus the fact that it is more accurate than the other two rifles. What are the strengths and weaknesses of each rifle? I have never spent $2000 on a rifle and I dont want to blow it on a rifle that is junk.

I'd go with the MSAR, based solely on opinion.

Don't go with the sl8, no hicap mags. HK hates you.

None of the rifles are junk.

I really like my SIG 556. About $1800 locally (SC), got one for 13 online with a 100 rebate for mil/LEO. Not sure if they still offer that, but whatever. It is more accurate than I am lately.

edit: I forgot, it takes AR mags too. Not sure if those mentioned above will. I am still more tech oriented than firearms. It is a slow transition.

reedit: SIG 556 product page

I have an Olympic Arms AR that only cost me $600-$700 and it has functioned very well. Still, the Sig is prolly the way to go.
