I am looking for some reliable mags for the mini-14 that won't break the bank. 20 and 30 rounders are prefered. Which brands work and which don't? If you know where they have them in stock that would also be helpful but not neccesary. I will also be asking this same question about mags for the Saiga in 7.62x39 and the ruger mini 30 in seperate poists but feel free to leave info on them here as well.

I've personally had good luck with Pro-mags for the Mini-14, though I know a lot of people who have never used them will say how horrible they are.
I've had some good luck, but I would say none. Don't buy any aftermarket mags. Some of them will not work, and this will eat up any "savings" you get. Penny wise, pound foolish (I've wasted too much, myself, this way).

The only thing other than factory I have tried is Masen 10-rounders. Unreliable is an understatement. They are terrible - misfeeds about every other round. Wobbles in the magwell. The tolerances must be terrible.

PMI mags are known to reliable by many mini owners. When I had my mini I bought two thirty round and two forty round PMI mags and they functioned well. I had four Ruger factory mags and they functioned fine too.
Cost of those 8 mags was well over three hundred dollars.
Thirty-five a pop for the PMI mags when I was able to find them on Gunbroker as they are not made anymore and fifty a pop for the factory twenty round mags.
I tried at least 3 other brands including ProMag and they all sucked hard. Of course, your mileage may vary.
Like another guy suggested, I'd get the factory twenty round mags from Ruger right now, while you can.

Ruger factory magazine are the best way to go for reliability.
The only mags guaranteed to run 100% in any Mini-14 are the factory mags. Anything else is a toss-up. Since Ruger is selling 20rd mags to We the People again, pick up as many as you can afford before the Obamanation and his followers ram another piece of illegal legislation down our throats.
