CDNN has a straight 20 round mag for Mini-14, looks like an M-14 mag rather than the normal curved 20 round mags. They say it is made by the same manufacturer who makes original equipment Ruger brand mags. They're $15, about half of a Ruger brand one.

It got good reviews on another site that has a good reputation on Mini-14 matters, Perfect Union https://www.perfectunion.com/vb/ruger-mini-14-mini-30/

They also have 10 round mags by the same company for half the price of Ruger brand.

I've read they don't stay in stock long, seems like limited runs, so I ordered two of each size.

If anyone is interested, here's the link for the 20 rounders: https://www.cdnnsports.com/mini-14-223-20rd-premium.html#.XZoXiyUkrVo

I bought one from CDNN in the past. It did not function reliably. I even tried it with a factory follower, but the spot welded tab that engages the mag release was not dimensionally in the right position. Some people have had good luck with them. I wanted it to work just on the look of it on the rifle, but I expect a new mag to function properly without having to tweak with it. When you add in CDNN's shipping,is there really that much price difference between Ruger and brand X when Brownells or Midway has a free shipping offer? My Ruger 20 round mags have ALWAYS worked through thousands of rounds. As a retired mechanic, mine is still on my workbench as a reminder of the difference in quality between factory and aftermarket parts that I was always experienced in my job.

The are only a good price if they function flawlessly

I learned long ago that for Rugers their mags are the best. I don't know about those for the Mini but for handguns they test their mags,

It would be nice if MagPul made Mini magazines.

Had a Mini-14 some years ago. The only mags that were reliable were factory and PMI. Look for a tab on the back of the mag that is spot welded on and not stamped out from the mag body.

Magazines arrived today, look good with spot welded piece on back. Working the action by hand with a full 20 rd. magazine had all feeding well.

Will take them to the range next week for actual trial by fire.

Was at the range today to try them out. Both 20’s worked perfectly, as did one of the 10 rounders. The other 10 rounder had one hiccup, I marked it and will try again next time.

Even if it doesn’t work well, money wise I’m still way ahead compared to what a couple of Ruger mags would have cost. Plus, I like the look, reminds me of the M-14 I humped in the Army.
