I got an Arsenal SLR- 106 in 5.56x 45mm for two simple reasons- 1) I wanted an AK. 2) I had dies in that calibre allready. So the price of the ammunition didn't really concern me (not that 5.56 is expensive right of the shelf).
Bonus reason: It is a fun rifle too shoot!
My favorite AK is probably the S12 (yes I know this is rifle country).
Of the choices listed I have things I like more or less about each of them. I have exemplars in each of the calibers listed save the 5.45, which I will probably pick up soon. If all my ammo and accesories were paid for it would between the .308 and the .223. The 7.62 is the cheaper than both for ammo and mags though. I am hopping the 5.45 will offer much of what I like about the x39 and the .223 in one package. We'll see.
Like many others if I could only have one AK rifle, I would take the x39 at this point. We'll see if the 5.45 can sway me.
7.62x39, mainly for its inexpensiveness as a whole (guns, mags, and all). I wouldn't mind getting one in .223 (a more preferable round for me), but my AR is for that.
