So, back on topic here for just a sec, what about the Romanian AK47s you see

for sale at the shops? The Chinese AK47s? The CAI GP-WASR-10?(Please, lets

not trash the tantal-barrels issue AGAIN) Anybody shot an Israeli built AK?

How about the Bulgarian AK47s?

Ok, for a serious answer (no more Saiga comments).
I had lots of Romi AKs when I started out, they functioned ok but most of them are ugly or worn, but if your looking for something just to shoot the crap out of....they work. And if you want to get crazy you could trying and clean it up yourself. I just sold a super mint bulg rifle, that was nicer then they usually are and very clean. pix321907668.gif
Each rifle is different....just inspect whatever you’re going to get with prejudice and make sure it wasn’t assembled in a shed somewhere....sorry.....

Atlanticfire... I hear your point, but we are not talking gunsmithing here... we are talking furniture replacement.

Or, at least I am. To put the new Tapco wood furniture on my Saiga requires no more skill then it takes to put a tapco stock on a 10/22...... Add a magazine made in the US and you have a legal, converted brandnew AK-74 for well under $500.

And, the gun... brandnew was $329 and the stock is $100.... no changes to the gun what so ever so I can put it back to the original with no modification.

I sold the Bulgarian above with hard case and three nice mags for 500 shipped.
The Saiga debate has gotten old, and I don’t want an further heated discussion. Its just something that I whole hearty don’t like, right there along with Glocks.
