Bower, don't let the critics grind you down. You're doing fine. The replicas we use are cheap enough that if a couple get ruined or we modify the finish to suit our own tastes but it devalues the price if sold later then it's not a big deal. Have fun and smile.
I've gotten down to two pairs that I want to set up with good nipples for easy and reliable use for my match shooting and general fun plinking. The other single that doesn't pair up I may just leave the stock nipples on or I may switch.
If I'm switching the nipples I'll likely also open up the notches on the Remingtons so I can use a single line capper as well. So far I haven't bothered because I needed to pinch the caps. But with a good and proper fit the use of a capper becomes far more practical.
I'm leaning towards the Slix Shots simply in the hope/expectation that the side vent should result in the caps fragging less and so they'll stay on the nipples. But I'd value any tales of the results from any that are actually using CCI #11's on ANY nipple. Again, I'm focusing on the CCI #11's because it seems to be the most commonly available at dealers and shows in this area.
