Being that I'm an old Marine which Colt Ar 15 would come the closest looks wise to a M16A2 service rifle? I had a match grade H-bar but I dont remember the thick barrel. I'm not interested in a M4 or anything like that. Thanks in advance

You can build an exact copy today. Lot of "retro" parts around. Nodak spud makes different lowers based on the early rifles.

I took the easy route, a 20" HBAR and added retro furniture.

I don't know about a Colt, but a BCM 20" Gov't profile upper is about the closest you can find to a GI A2. They are one of the few who produce a 20" upper with the actual GI profile barrel, and with the mil-spec 1/7 twist rate. I don't know why everybody else is so stuck on those frickin heavy HBAR barrels. BCM is top-notch quality, as well. At least as good as Colt.

Thanks guys! The triangle front grip is for an A1 so I need the round grips. I will check up on the other manufacters but I really want a colt.
