Looks like there are some being made to fit the Ruger integral mounts.
Can't say how reliable they are. Careful research will turn that up. OYE

I've got that little 2.5x Leupold and it's a nice scope. If you decide on a variable I'd suggest that you look more at a 1.x - 4ish range so it really doesn't matter if you get caught with the need for a quick shot. I've also got two of the Leupold 1-4x scopes on brush guns. I'd keep the 2.5x in spare rings and sighted in as a backup should you manage to damage your next scope out in the middle of nowhere.

I think you have got it right - 3 or 4X...

But buy as much scope as you can afford.
