Which Glock to teach son with ?

None, I choose a .357 revolver for simplicity, and show them the difference between .357 and .38 from the same pistol. ( a whole nuther thread...)

Which ever one he decides. Don't decide for him. I would argue that a .22 LR might be a better choice for him rather than the Glock since he is new to shooting. I would also look at a revolver as well.

Just about everyone, male and female, who have asked my advice on what centerfire auto loader to look at have favored the Glock 19 over just about everything else. The grip size and angle, along with the ease of operation, seem to be just right for most people who have handled it, as well as having a very good weight, balance, and overall feel to it.

Thanks to all with all the great information . I'm sure he will love the G34 since it's only an inch longer in the slide than the 17. Thanks everyone !
