The new 1911 still hasn't arrived yet but I'm already exploring accessory options. The gun in question is a Les Baer Premier II in stainless steel. I've always liked the classy look of a stainless 1911 with either ivory or pearl style grips. I can't afford to spend several hundred bucks on ivory grips and I also don't want cheapo fake pearl grips. I want something that's comfortable too, aggressive checkering is a no no for my soft hands. I was also considering some light wood, maybe something by Hakan Pek. Alumagrips are a possibility, but they look uncomfortable. I want to avoid black grips, I like light colored grips on a stainless gun.

This gun is going to be my pride and joy handgun of my collection, but not a safequeen. It may get carried so I want grips that are nice and presentable but also that function well.

Pics and links would be great Help a fellow forumite part with his money, it seems that's what we're always best at
:D

I found a set of Spegel "double diamond" stocks in my grip box that look very nice on a stainless Mil-Spec. Very classy without being loud.

Here are a set of double-diamond micarta stocks on a hard chrome gun.

Himalayan cross cut multi grain cut 3 inches below the bark facing southwest between the 15 and 17 1/2 foot mark. If you can't find them due to complicated import regulations since the tree is home to the endangered screaming pula monkey, my next choice would be some kind of plastic.

Alumagrips are in no way uncomfortable, I know it looks like very agressive checkering, but it feels good in my hand. I think the "Nickel" color would look very nice on a stainless pistol.

How about Carbon Creatons black on black double diamond grips? Like on Tamara's Darth Vader 1911.

Well, I'm a sucker for grips like G-10, linen micarta etc and laminated black and gray grips on stainless 1911s. And of course, good old solid black ebony never fail to impress.

Really, on a stainless gun, it's hard to go wrong with just about any grip unless it's Charles Daly Pink! :p

Here's a couple pics.

Some custom laminated grips from a guy on eBay... The green tint is an artifact of the lighting, not the grips. These are probably my favorite single pair of 1911 grips.
