But they can also be works of art and marvels of engineering and craftsmanship.

Which gun makes you feel that you possess an artifact as perfect as any created by the hand of man?

For me it's my Model 12 riot gun and SIG 226 Stainless

I hope to learn from this thread about fine guns that I might not have appreciated before.

A full sized 1911 feels like a piece of art in my hands, Even my not high end PT1911.
I hope to replace it with another 5" for ccw work, But i may go 3" so i can carry it all year around as a 5" is a bit large and heavy for Ohio summer carry which i use an SA XD SC .40 during those months.
But i have some hesitation a 3" will feel and shoot like my 5" does.

"feeling" perfection is believing, every time you pick it up, that you can hit anything you can see at any distance (no matter how many times you prove to yourself that you cannot)

for me, any 6" S&W k-frame, any caliber, with whatever grips best fit your own hand
models 19/66/17/48 etc.
