I'm a pawn shop shopper having purchased 5 of my last 7 guns out of a pawn shop. So as far as buying out of a pawn shop, I'm all for it as long as they have some kind of warranty that goes with it.
buy whichever one feels the best when shouldered. how does it feel to you? which one do you like, makes you keep coming back to? Get that one.
the triggers on the Savages are fine. We got one in 270 for my son (pawn shop) and it is a good, easy shooting gun.
As far as the Marlin XL7 goes, I almost got one a couple months ago in 25-06. The only thing that stoped me was dishing out another $370 on a gun I really didn't need at the time, just wanted- and I'd have a hard time explaining it to mama just after buying a 270.
