I bought an M&P-15 Optics Ready rifle simply because I didn't want the A-2 post getting in the way of my scope, so now that it's on order and I'm looking for more accessories I'm trying to find a set of rails to mount on it, but with this big ol' gas block I'm not sure what I need to be looking for...
I'm new to the AR world and still learning so bear with me...
I'm not 100% sure if I want to free-float the barrel or not. To my understanding it's supposed to help a bit with accuracy but that's about all I know. Are free-floated rails supportive enough to mount bipods & accessories? How do I know if a rail I order is going to clear the gas block on my rifle?
As for the rails that aren't free floated, what suggestions could you offer based on quality & dependability?
