I'm looking at ditching my single rail gas block for a quad rail and the UTG looks just about like all the others except it's half or less on the price. Does anyone have DIRECT experience with them?

I like my MOE handguard but want a place to mount a laser that was given to me so I think this will be a good option and allow a future weapon light to be added down the road.

Another option is a Quad rail, but I'm not sure if I want to spend the money on a good free float rail.

I'm very satisfied with my UTG free-float quad rail I picked up at a gun show for ~$50.

No direct experience with the UTG gas block, but since the precision of its fit will affect the function of your rifle (unlike a hand guard) I'd tend to look elsewhere, unless you know they are made a bit undersized and you have the means to fit it to your rifle.

I may have to talk to the local gun shop and see if they have the tools for installing a free float handguard. It would cost me more in the tools to install than it would be worth to try install it myself.

If you have the tools to change, the gas block all you'll need is an ~$20 AR multitool to remove/replace the barrel nut.
Midway USA has an on-line video showing how to install a free-float handguard, I'm also sure you'll find some how-to videos if you search on youTube.

Cheaper than dirt has the UTG Carbine quadrail with rail covers right now for $60. Thats a pretty good deal right there, and is what I plan to buy. its simple enough to install vs a free-float, which costs more and will need additional parts to install.
