Thanks to everyone for all of the responses.. i do appreciate the suggestions

Kimber made the RCP a couple of years ago. As I understand it, they were a one year limited edition. This thing is as small as you can make 1911s,
Well, Kimber SAID they were the smallest, lightest 1911, but I weighed my friends and my Defender and the Defender was lighter. The RCP just had a bobbed hammer and grip safety and NO sights, so it really wasn't smaller. It still had an officers grip and 3" barrel.

I am with Smoke. I just got a ultra cdp that I love. It feels lighter on my hip than the makarov I have caried for years.

Hmmmm....

Some that come to mind are the Springfields Micro-Compact [3" barrel] & Ultra-Compact [3-1/2" barrel] 1911's

Para-Ordnance Para-carry C6.45 3" barrel 6+1 1911-style

S&W has the "Chief's Special" in 45

I'm sure there are a bunch more, but that's all that pop up right now

A bersa ultra compact 45
Very good reviews.
7+1 I believe.

I have a bersa thunder 380.
It's amazing how well their grips fit in the hand. That's the biggest comment I've gotten so far on the bersa is how good it feels in the hand.
