I'm going to put away a bit more 7.62x51. I bought some Lithuanian GGG and was quite happy with that but it's scarce now and the prices on what's out there are beyond my capability.

Current choices that I can find out there at only slightly unreasonable prices are 1990s Radway Green and 1990s German DAG.

The Radway looks perfect in the pics; clean and bright. The DAG is advertised has having some "cosmetic" tarnishing that will not affect function. Radway is on 5rd strippers in bandoliers, the DAG is loose in GI ammo cans.

Price is essentially the same, although you are getting the ammo can with the DAG, a very minor perk.

Anyone have any comments on these two choices. Accuracy, reliability, clean shooting...whatever.

They'll be going out the front end of a DPMS .308.

Thanks for your suggestions!

The Radway Green is better ammo. Both are berdan primed. Some of the DAG came in battle packs with acidic paper boxes and many were badly oxidized. That is why it is removed from the battle packs because they picked out the worst pieces. I would not touch the stuff but many use it.

Except that they may not all fire, pretty much canceling out that perk :)

The good German stuff is the MEN if you happen to run across that, otherwise steer clear. Now, if you find DAG that's still in the original packing, and not corroded, it's great ammo. As posted above, some lots had problems and the loose packed stuff is usually it.

Good price and availability list here, updated pretty regularly:
