Which model Glock...40 cal

I have a pistol permit coming soon. i already have a 357 and a 9mm (not Glocks). For my next pistol im thinking about about a Glock .40 cal. I have been looking at the Glock 22 and the 35. How much should i expect to spend? Which one would you buy and why? All pros and cons are welcomed...Thanks

It depends on what you want to do with it. if your looking for a carry gun the 35 is probably not the best option. If your looking for a gun to shoot action pistol with it may be.

You seem to be eying full size framed models, and this is what I would recommend for the .40 round. Agreed, it depends on what you're going to do with it. A G22/G35 would be difficult but not impossible to conceal. I own a G23 and have shot it side-by-side with a G22 and the larger frame/longer barrel of the G22 does a lot to mitigate the "snappiness" of the .40 round. The G22 shoots like a 9mm. I do not enjoy shooting the G23, though it's my chosen CCW. The G23 makes my hands hurt after about 200 rounds. I can shoot a 9mm, or a G22 all day. I've never tried a G27, but I can't even imagine how bad the snap would be in such a short barrel. In any case, you can't go wrong with a Glock - good choice. Local shops had Glock 9/40/357 models going for $499 before the Obama-craze. I haven't looked recently, but I'm betting anything sub-$525 for NIB would be a good deal.

I would say 22.

The 35 looks like it's built to have improved accuracy, but if you're buying a firearm for HD, I would recommend just a plain ol' G22.

It depends on what you want to do with it.

It will be used for target shooting/home defense. There is no chance of getting a ccw permit in NJ.

You could always get a 27 (subcompact). Big enough (w/a 15rnd mag) to be a main weapon, small enough to be CC.

If you have your heart set on the 40 I would get the 35 for the range and a 12 ga for the HD (I know you don't want to hear it but I'll say it anyway). If you got a 34 (9mm) you'd save a good chunk of change over time on ammo and I believe it would be just as good (rule wise) if you wanted to shoot action pistol leagues etc.

Another option is to get a G20. You can use a drop-in 40 barrel for the range and for HD you can run the more potent 10mm. The stock G20 mags will work perfectly with 40SW as well.

The real difference between the two are the lengths of the slide/barrels. If you want to do any competition, go for the G35. I own the G35 and have used it in training, competition and range time. It's my main gun. I like the balance on the G35, plus the distance between the sight are easy on my eyes and accurate as hell.

Depending on where you live the G35 will be a bit more expensive.

The G22 has the exact same parts with the G35, except for the the slide/barrel.

Bottom line: get the opportunity to shoot them both and decide from there.

I'd personally get the G35....because I have one.

I like the Glock sub compacts for CC. I suggest the G27. I like my G26 and G33 in 9 and 357sig.
