Trying to decide on a semi-auto 12 ga. I want camo, 2 bbl option - one 28-30" for geese, etc and one rifled for deer. I have narrowed it down (in my price range) to the Remington 11-87 and the Mossberg 935.

Any input - I find the same complaints and likes online on both of them. The higher priced ones are maybe a little more reliable, but I'm not aware of rifled slug barrels available for them.

Open for suggestions, thanks.

Had a Remington 11-87 a few years back. A well made and versatile shotgun. No experience with the Mossberg 935 but still have a 9200 which is my turkey gun. Not as refined as a Remington but very reliable and durable.

Had an 11-87 and wish I still did. Both shot and rifled barrels. Won a skeet tournament with the shot barrel, killed a deer with the rifled. No problems, ever.
Never owned a 930 but sold a bunch at the shop. Had a few that came back for repair but were fixed on one trip. Jerry Michulak seems to do quite well with his. I guess you pays your money you takes your choice but I'd shade toward the Rem.

I would stay clear of the 3.5" chambered 11-87, they tend to crack receivers among other less serious problems. The 935 is a good gun if you don't ever intend to shoot light loads. They weren't designed to cycle anything lighter than 1 1/4oz.

Got the 11-87, one of the early ones. Has over 50,000 rounds shot in it, mostly light target shells. Replaced a couple O-rings for maintenance is all. Have 3 barrels, a 26", a 30", and a cantilever slug barrel. The slug barrel likes Remington Copper Solids for slugs. Generally stays in 4" group at 100 yards with them, darn good for slugs and has dropped several deer over the years.

I had it out to the skeet range a couple months ago and it shot my ultra light 7/8oz reloads just fine. It has only had a few boxes of high brass or steel shot shot thru it and handled them well.
