I'm in Springfield mo today so I head to bass pro and while there I noticed a couple of small shotguns model 510 MOssbergs to be extat one in 410 the other 20 gauge and my ff wants a gun for Christmas which one should I get her this is her first shotgun

All depends on what the shotty will be used for. Imo the 20 ga is superior for almost any purpose skeet, hunting, or self defense it will almost always win. Just my $.02 worth.
