i have a pardner pump which is an 870 clone. i got a wolf hammer spring and now need the hammer pin and washer. there are 2 different pins on the remington web site, 1 is for the newer synthetic trigger assembly, the other is for metal trigger assembly. my pardner is metal but a new gun, so do i get the metal assembly pin or synthetic. my gun is supposed to be like the express but its synthetic. i'm stumped and h&r are no help. if anyone knows thanks for your help.

What did you do with the pin & washer you took out?

PS: Ever start to think you bought the wrong gun to start with? :D

nothing wrong with my gun, i found a sale on wolf springs and bought a few. then was told if i ever need to put them in i need to get a new pin. and with parts being out of stock alot thought i had better get one now. thanks

Mmmmmm?

If you are stumped, and the manufacture can't or won't help you?
Or provide the spare parts you think you might possibly need someday, Maybe?, by return mail?

There IS something wrong with your new gun!

You didn't get the whole package a new gun is expected to come with.

h&r is getting parts in, they told me it would be a few weeks. they said they never had a hammer spring failure to be sent in but as cheap as they are i didn't want to pass on them.

Whatever.

We, and now H&R also, have told you you will not live long enough to need the new springs.

We tried, but were unsuccessful I guess.

You are practically an endorsement for anyone wanting a shotgun to get an 870 or a 500. You have been all over the net asking questions about stuff for your "clone". If your time is worth anything, you are well behind.

i just got a chance to get alot of extra parts cheap, just wanted to get the ones i might need. they were too good of a deal to pass up, this h&r i've had 2yrs been shot close to 1000 rds, no trouble with it at all. but when a friend had all these springs and other parts to get rid of i thought wouldn't hurt to have them. then found out i needed a pin. he's going to single shots for some reason, just rather have parts and not need them than need them and not have them. i can get a pin from remington, they sell 2 different ones didn't know which i needed. thanks

He bought a clone and wants to know about it. Telling him he should not own that model serves no purpose. Is the rule here that someone can only ask questions about the guns you guys approve of ?

No.

But a new firearm you can't get help or parts for two years after they sold it does set off alarm bells.

Just say'n.

Parts enter stock in batches. Each manufacturer tries to set a part order quantity that will allow them to sell every one before a new order of parts arrive. Sometimes they guess wrong. The Pardner Pump is rock solid. Remington being out of parts happens...

h&r has had parts, they ran out. said ever since the ammo scare that parts are also leaving faster than expected. i know some companies have stopped selling firing pins for their guns. remington and h&r still do, savage does not as i had a mark 2 and savage said they no longer sell pins for any model to regular customers only gunsmiths. so i thought i might get some parts in case, just needed to know which pin would fit my gun. thanks

I am going to take a guess and say that I buy more parts then anyone on this site from Remington as I purchase around $80,000.00 worth a year in just parts, barrels and stocks. I have had parts on order for months. In fact, in 2010 I waited five months for solid steel 870 extractors. I just got 50 LE stocks in last week that I ordered last June. That's eight months.

The OP's gun is part of the Remington line so a part not being in stock is not a major issue. He could order it and would go on back order and come in when it comes in.

I was not dogging his gun or commenting on parts availability so much as trying to say that if you do not know guns well, you might be even better served buying an 870 or a 500 because it is a heck of a lot easier to get info and parts usually. He posted the same question on like five boards and AI&P is the only one who knew the answer apparently, and he is definitely not anywhere close to average in knowledge relative to 870s.

thank you AI&P for your answer, i can get the pin from remington now. i may never need the parts i got, but at less than $20 and i got 2 each of every spring in the trigger assembly, the bolt and extractor, plus firing pin and spring. i hope i never need them but i won't have to worry if i do. thanks again
