Which saiga mount would you buy?

Which of these LOW mounts would you purchase for a Saiga for the purpose of mounting an Ultradot Pan AV reflex sight.

Or is there something I'm missing about these low mounts that would make me want to avoid them.

They're both the same mount, one just has the screws and locking lever blackened.

I owned one for a short amount of time and wasn't impressed. It was bulky and did not line up flat over the bore, it was tilted to the left. There are better options for mounting a red dot, I would recommend either an Ultimak gas tube mount or a KVAR weaver mount. Both are more expensive but better quality, in my opinion.

If you get a sidemount you want the BP-02, or in this case the second mount. The first auction actually depicts two different mounts, the BP-04 and the BP-02. The BP-04 is the high one and IMO it's way too high.

The BP-02 is a good solid mount, but I think it's actually about 1/4" too low. It sits very close to the top cover and returns to zero pretty well, but you can't field strip the rifle without removing it first. If it were just 3/16" higher you could do that and by going with a set of low rings you could keep the scope at the same height.

Like GTSteve03 mentioned already, the Ultimak mount is a better one for use with a red dot.

I think those are both the same mount (in essence) - the "BP-02" mount. Good low mount, though the rail is just a smidge off the the right - your optic adjustments can take up for it though.

Be sure that second mount is a genuine BP-02 (from Belarus), and not some cheap asian knock-off. I have the real deal on my Siaga, but I can tell you, as low as it is, it's not low enough to give you access to the iron sights unless you ramp them up to the 300 yd. mark. At zero, the rear sight is not visible over the mount's rail.

Looks to be the second one you posted.

If I had to choose one for my x39 Saiga, it would be the second one as the mount sits right over the barrel line of sight.

My friend has a mount for his Arsenal but it sits to the left and is a real PITA to use.

I would have ordered from Kalinka but a quick google search yielded dozens of horror stories of extremely poor to nonexistent customer service.

It's a moot point as a fellow THR'er stepped up and sold me a BP-02 at a great price.

who said anything about a scope? I'm putting a reflex sight on my .410 LOL squirrels will have nowhere to run!

I've seen all the negative stuff on kalinka too, but I only dealt with them once and they were great to me...
