I picked up a Tikka T3 Lite in 243 yesterday. I have two scopes on hand I can use for the Tikka:

1. Bushnell Elite 3200 3-10 x 40 for short action.
2. Redfield 3-9x40 with the Accureticule

Which scope should I use? Which ever one is not used I will likely put on a Ruger M77 Lightweight in 223.

The Nikon Buckmaster series seems to be a popular choice these days I've personally never shot one however I have read some very positive reviews.

Don't forget to look at the new Redfields. Don't forget to look at the new Redfields. They are much better than people realize. I'm tellin' ya.

I'd probably start with the Bushnell. It's a decent all weather scope that shrugs off fog and cold pretty well (RainGuard). See if it fits?

more info needed, but you are the one gonna be using it, you got to try them out and make the decision, dont leave it up to readers on this forum, our ideas will be different.

The primary issue is fit. I mounted the Bushnell this evening. In order to get the right eye relief, the bell of the scope is snugged back against the front ring. I am not sure if this will be a problem or not

I have Redfields on three other guns: A T/C Icon in 243, a Remington R15 in 223, and a Ruger M77 all weather in 6.5 Creedmoor. The performace on the T/C and Remington has been pretty good. I haven't made up my mind if I have a lemon on the 6.5 Cr, and will be remounting the scope to make that determination. the Redfields have a lot of eye relief, but the Bushness does not.

I will be airing the Tikka out a the range in a few days in order to make that determination. Of course, the real test will come when I take it down to the ranch on the western edge of the Edwards Plateau. We have this bobcat that is beginning to be a pest...
