My sons and I, the three of us, must have at least eight 870s, alliteration forgiven, and we don't look back. In the vault, there are at least seven other barrels, two trigger groups, and a pile of firing pins, springs, extractors and so on. Stocks: trap, field, synthetic, and whatever...birch,ugh....
Give me an 870 and I'll eat, shoot trap/skeet and give up nothing to no one.
Results: twelve years club champion, one year PSTC overall champion, deer: 4, pheasant, quail, rabbit, squirrel, etc. uncountable. Nuff said.
Maybe not as "elegant" as a Model 12 but the average man can fit a barrel, change stocks, and do whatever it takes to keep it running.
I am now shooting a TC from the early seventies and it has no problems keeping up with the K_guns, the P guns, the 12s or an;ything else.......................
