While I don't have an H&K 9mm, I have an H&K .45, and a p229. I prefer the Sig Sauer by far over the H&K. I feel my H&K was grossly overpriced, and cut too many corners in production to be in the same tier of quality as my Sig Sauer.
Little things about the H&K rubbed me the wrong way...other than the terrible trigger.
It may be a terrific gun, but I couldn't get over that they would replace the hammer spur with a plastic/rubber nub...makes no sense to me. It's saving no weight, complicates manufacturing, does not increase grip or useability, and adds something to come off or go wrong. Reminds me of VW....designing things different just to be different, with no benefits, only added complications.
