Help! I got my dads very old single shot 12 Gauge Whippet Model C after he passed away. From this forum, I have recently learned a lot about the way this single-shot gun was manufacturered for hundreds of small hardware stores, but I cannot find any evidence of a trigger diagram.

My problem is I have attempted to clean the gun, which was definitely needed, but not being a gunsmith (or having much experience), I punched the two side pins out which made the trigger come apart. I did this before I learned I should have taken off the rear stock first, by removing the butt plate/pad. Now I do not know how to re-assemble the trigger. :banghead:

Can any of you experienced gunsmiths provide even a hand drawn, rough diagram on how the trigger mechanism all goes back together? A rookie will definitely appreciate any and all help!

Thanks!

Whippet: Trade name used by the H. & 0. Folsom Arms Company on firearms made for the Hibbard, Spencer & Bartleft Hardware Company of Chicago.

I don't know of any source for a schematic, but most all single-barrel shotguns are very similar internally.
And simple enough to easily put back together just by looking at the parts.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Hand Drawn will be fine

Thanks RC - as my name indicates, I am a rookie trying to reassemble and cannot quite figure it out. If anyone could make just a hand drawn, rough sketch of how the pieces fit together, I would appreciate it! Since I do not know how triggers work, I am not sure if the pins have to be in place before everything else, or not.
