I am the proud new owner of a Colt M4. My buddy says I HAVE to get optics. I am gonna use it for home defense and going to the range (100-150 yards).
Any suggestions (detachable carry handle, btw).
One consideration. My 10/22 was less than 200 bucks. So, your budget of 100 or less is very reasonable. You could take a chance and pick up some no name junk at a gun show and it might serve your purpose and you save some cash. Or, you might want to shell out for something good and transfer it to different guns as needed and it last you a couple of decades.Iwas thinking of putting a reflex sgt on my ruger 10/22 as apposed to a red dot . but there are so many choices . I was thinking less than $100 $ is the ncstar d4rgb any good ? all thoughts would be appreciated.
don't know jack about optics. I only have one scoped gun.
I grew up on iron sights and basically is all that I know.

Hmm, cheap red dot? Can't beat this one.
The two i hear good things about are Trijicon and Burris. They are both well above $100. Also, leupold came out with one with an etched reticle (no batteries necessary!) but i haven't seen it carried at places that sell Leupold stuff, and haven't heard many reviews.
Spence, that is the way I should have phrased it!NCstar is junk...i found that out the hard way. hey, i'll sell it at 1/4 price! PM me
For 20 bucks, i figure it's like buying a girl a drink at a bar..you don't always win....but when you do, it is nice.
Anybody ever used a bushnell trophy red dot?
I wouldn't put an Aimpoint on a 10/22. Talk about over-kill.
