I still had two of the targets printed off so I figured I'd use them to give the pistol class a shot when I went to the range yesterday.

As long as a 22LR CMMG upper with the stock taken off the lower counts as a pistol that is ...

I shot it prone unsupported and cheated by pulling the buffer tube into my shoulder. Such a shooting position probably would have hurt with a 5.56 AR "pistol", but it actually worked pretty decently with a 22LR one.

I used to do that with the little green suckers you used to get from First Union when I was a kid. From what I remember it worked pretty darn good. That memory is what inspired the "sucker match" a few months back.

:)

Ha Ha, yes, I'm diabetic so I couldn't eat the dang things anyway. Best use I could find for 'em was targets for my .22 back in the day.

Gotta help teach a concealed carry class this weekend and my partner has a nice range that we use for qualification - It's over 60 miles from here so don't get to use it much. Gonna build up one of these for after the class and see if I can get any challengers for a .223 hundred yard shoot. I'm taking the pump carbine along so I won't have an unfair advantage - ;)

Can I take that as an open challenge??...LOL

Well, I finally got a chance to shoot a rimfire match and I honestly surprised myself. Gun is a Remington Model 552 Speedmaster.

The orange targets were just to see if I was going to embarrass myself, but the gun shot great! 97 degrees, about 5 mph of wind, and (as the rules said) 50 yards.

I think it scores 25-3x, but it might be 2x, I'll let y'all decide, I'm just glad I finally made it out to shoot!

Nice shooting allroundhunter! Well done, it looks like 3x to me but it's tough to see well from the small screen of my phone, I'll let others weigh in. I'm not familiar with that gun but from the picture I assume this is in the 'sporting' class, unless you opted to use a front bench rest and therefore 'stepped up' into the unlimited/target class?

Cool, nice to see more participation in the sporting class this month. Might have to get out with the wife and give the target one more go to see if we can improve any on our scores. Again, well done.

Tried another run at the target last week ,Scored 25 5x ??

87 degrees, 5-8 mph wind
Unlimited/Target Rifle Class
Kimber 82

They are very similar except in the Match you dont get as many fliers
Thing to remember every rifle seems to like a particular ammo and even ammo lots will vary

I have noticed that even with ME I am getting more flyers than years ago
Atleast I'm blaming it on the ammo;)
