Whitetail - anatomy question

When cleaning a doe recently I notice these dark nodules in her fat. They looked about the same as a bean. Does anyone know what these are?

Lymph node.

They are found various places under the skin, within fatty tissues and certain muscle groups. Usually beige or gray in color...but can be dark if the animal is fighting off some type of infection or stress.
