While dvds do have some timeless info to offer they are few and mostly dated as they are not a good way for those making them to profit due to piracy. Youtube is the best way to get the newest info on tactics, instructional, product reviews, mindset and everything to do with firearms. I want to broaden my YouTube subscriptions for learning all this. Please post below those you think are worthy of subscriptions and also include what aspect you like best about their uploads. I will start.

FPSRussia: Best for general entertainment, seeing high end weaponry in action, and blowing things up.

Hickok45: Product reviews and some general knowledge.

The only person I have ever subscribed to on youtube is Hickok45.

The guy just gets the spirit of shooting. It isn't always about technique. It isn't always about having the best and it most certainly isn't about being so serious all the time. I love his videos because they make me happy to be a shooter.

DemolitionRanch
hickok45
Forgotten Weapons
Military Arms Channel
22plinkster
SmarterEveryDay
tnoutdoors9
RatedRR

...Just the good ones.

I don't subscribe either, but have watched:

Hickok45
Iraqveteran8888
Jerry Miculek
Jeff Quinn (Gunblast.com)

I look at whatever I am researching or curious about at the time. I try to stay away from some of the guys who just love every gun they test, as I find that impossible. I also wonder that when they sent these individuals a weapon to evaluate, is it the same build quality that we get, or has the gun been tuned before sending by a master gunsmith to make sure it works properly.
I do stay away from arrogant know it all types who just love to hear their own voice.

Subscribed to:

Hickok 45
Big Daddy Hoffman 1911
The Armory Channel
Colion Noir
Gun Talk Media

But...spend lots of wasted time watching other gun videos on youtube, especially ones of guns that I am considering buying.

Some others I can't think of right now LOL! :D!

Top gun/tactical hosts on YT.....

In no specific order or preference;
The Yankee Marshal
The Patriot Nurse(I say I take issue or openly disagree with about 60-70% of her content/remarks but it's entertaining & gives you issues to consider.)
Gunblast(he's left handed like me & gets sooo many new guns). It makes me :fire: with jealous feelings. I like his casual style & honest reports.
Hickok45
The NSSF/SIG Sauer Academy channel. This YT channel offers good classes/material to the new or advanced level armed citizen/armed professional. It's well made(no sound/audio issues, bad lighting, confusing-jumpy edits). SIG & the NSSF produce the spots. It's worth a look. ;)
TNOutdoors9; he does good in depth, honest R&Ds of ammunition. If you are looking to change defense or duty rounds or you want to see how a brand really does, watch these clips.
Gun Homeroom; I'm not sure if it's the full title but this channel has a lot. The guy does a lot of gun/2A stuff from a "set"(that maybe a house garage or back room). He sounds a bit like Barney from the animated Fox series; The Simpsons, :D but he does know quite a lot about holsters/gear/gun laws/etc. I think the host also has a national podcast or webcast too. He brings it up on the videos I've watched.

There are a few others I see but I can't remember the titles. Yeager is okay but he seems to get mad/irate quickly. :uhoh:
His tirades & rants are sometimes valid but viewers(web content subscribers) aren't the bad guys or in a basic training/day one LE academy course. That gets tired real fast sometimes.
JY's "hey Im cool & know more than you" bit doesn't interest me either.

The only firearms related one I subscribe to is Hickok45 - though I watch a lot of him.

Other than that it's Philip Defranco, Rooster Teeth, Jenna Marbles, Laina, Geek & Sundry, etc :).

I subscribe to a few, like Hickok45, Fateofdestinee and others.
My favorite all around is Fateofdestinee, she covers some gun reviews, but also holsters, safety for adults and kids, also this girl can shoot great. Anything from her favorite 1911 to her S&W 500 Magnum. She intersperses other weapons like 50 BMG rifles and just has fun.
Hickok45 is who I go to when thinking of buying a new gun, I love his in depth reviews, vast knowledge and his sense of humor.

Hickok45 - easy to listen to and very informative. Is it just me or does he seem to be more "commercial" these days. Not referring to the endless promotion of federal ammo, which is totally cool considering more ammo= more reviews. Seems like there are more forced reviews of free guns vs his old T&E type of reviews. Not knocking him, still my fav but just an observation.

My guess is we've already seen just about everything he has in his gun safe. Given that he has weekly videos unless we want to see a lot of repeats or expect him to buy a half-dozen guns per month - he's gotta go with what he can be provided. Overall it doesn't bother me. As long as I see a variety of guns its good.

Hickok45, Military Arms Channel, tnoutdoors9, OilTheGun, those are my go-to people. Despite their popularity I dislike nutnfancy and I vehemently dislike James Yaeger. I like good camera quality, low-key individuals who seem like real people, and thoughtful analysis that stays relatively concise. I'm not interested in a 48-minute diatribe about a Youtuber's politics or worldview, and I am not interest in over-the-top compensating antics.

Much like TV, different channels work for different folks. The basic reasons I like them are all the same. All four people I named excel at:

1.) Good demonstrations of fundamental shooting skill
2.) Application of logic, rational thinking, and scientific method
3.) Understanding that not all things work for all shooters
4.) A generally accepting view that embraces a good number of quality options on the market
5.) Solid camera work and sound. OilTheGun in particular has short videos that lack substance but are just insanely good camera work.

Edit:

Forgot to mention scootch00, Colion Noir, and IraqVeteran8888, all are solid for the same basic reasons. I love Colion's video editing. Not to be a hipster, but I followed him well before the NRA was aware of him. He's an outstanding spokesman for gun rights. His speaking/presentation is smooth, slick, and well-considered, and his arguments are strong without dipping into hyperbole. I love his slow-mo work in his videos too.

In terms of stuff that's not related to guns, I like My Drunk Kitchen with Hannah Hart (though less since she got political), The Lonely Island, ExplosmEntertainment (Cyanide and Happiness shorts), ThePilotChannel, and BoeingJetJockey
