I have a M1 carbine that I want to get parkerized since there are screw holes found in the receiver and therefore ruined value. I plan to keep this gun and plan to shoot the blazes out of it and want this gun parkerized black.

Aluma-Hyde2

Save yourself some money go to Brownells and look at the Aluma Hyde 2 I just done a Rem PSS and it looks great.

The origional M-1 carbine park was zinc, and appeared gray.

Black park is manganese, and not as hard.

The best black park I have seen was done by a combination of Mn park and then chemically blackened (a process similar to blueing).

The most durable finish (IMHO)is Zn parked, then painted with a moly based paint, that is baked on at high temp.

Many of the pros use Texas Armament Company in.....guess it?.....Texas!
I don't believe they have a web presence.
Look in Shotgun News Classifieds.
Quick turnaround, cheap prices, excellent product.
Wait......something must be wrong!

Mac's offers a Charcoal Gray finish that is very similar in color appearance to WWII era zinc Parkerizing. Our Tuff-Gun 1 finish is Gunkote molly resin applied over zinc Parkerizing. We also offer Black, Mil-Park Green, OD Green and combinations of those colors. Two week turn around time, reasonable prices and 25 + years experience with this finish. Email us or visit our web site for more info.
Keep yer powder dry, Mac.

Let me chime in for Mac's.

The product and the service are simply outstanding.

I had them refinish an AK a few years ago that had rusted due to exxposure to some chemicals.

The rifle was back to me in under two weeks and the finish is tough as nails, looks great and has put up with plenty of field abuse and shooting since then.

Its the last finish you will ever need to put on your rifle.
