i was interested in guns since last year, i was 14 just, and was bored and looked on the net, now every1 i no says i no way 2 much about firearms, and i have 1 goal in life, join the army
lol, the only thing i can really hope for is the bb thing to go through over here, im aussie, so bb guns arent legal over here, but i hope they will
not fair =p lucky other ppl lol

no1 likes guns over here =o
stupid retards

Thanks to Martin Bryant,Julian Knight,Wade Frankum, etc, your government, like my government, enacted strict rules on what you can and can't have. The people of Australia don't like guns, because they are too liberal-minded like the Uk citizens,in the common view of: 'the general public, don't need guns and shouldn't have them'.

They are legal, but there are licensing requirements, for them.

Now,I got intersted in shooting, because I loved military history and that I read a book in my public library, about target-shooting and clay-shooting,and this got me excited about shooting.I owned a number of pellet-guns,that I bought, via mail-ordering, with my allowance money, without my parents permission.I used to keep them at my grandmas house and shoot at paper targets, around her garden and at targets attatched to old pieces of hardwood and chipboard.Funding from the RN,in target-shooting,makes me enjoy one of my favourite hobbies, even more.

Leagle its not that no one likes them there is just a lot of misunderstanding these days & bb guns (air rifles) are legal they are a category A rifle or a category H pistol and thats not going to change with all the new high power air rifles coming out these days

Anyway my dad taught me to shot at 5 years old in the back yard with the air rifle since then iv shot more kangaroos, goats, pigs, rabbits, foxes and just about anything else furry or feral than I can count. Also did 4 years of full bore target

No one got me into shooting. Mom's a rabid anti, Dad's ex-military but also convicted of a felony when I was young, so no father and son hunting trips or shooting excursions for me =(. I basically created the interest on my own initiative, probably nothing specific in my upbringing to cause it. Older brother is an anti, younger sister undecided.

I guess guns just have a pull that some people can't resist, no matter where you come from. =)

jerry brukheimer.......bad boys, bad boys watcha gonna do....I usually watch that before every range trip. OK, my brother.

Inlaws. Married into a bigtime hunting family. When I came to the states, my brother-in-law bought me a BB-gun for my first birhthday in the US. Yep, I must have put about 10 000 round through my infamous model 7600 pumpmaster. It is about seven years later now and i am by far the most frequent shooter of the whole bunch. I think that is what years and years of gun deprivation will do to you...

At school. :what:

We had a 50M rifle range and .22 target rifles. The (army) cadet corps used to have hundreds of decommisioned SLRs (FAL) and we got to shoot the real thing on camp

...and it wasn't that long ago...:banghead:

Leagle - it isn't true that no-one likes guns here - about 25% of households have firearms apparently. Congratulations on your desire to join the army - traditionally aussies have been good soldiers because many were farm boys who were used to the outdoors and shooting from an early age.

My dad was a life member of the NRA. I always used to read his American Rifleman magazines. I learned a lot from listening to him and reading his mags.

In the early 90's a co-worker who likes pistols asked me to go to a gun show with him. He really got me intersted so I applied for a pistol purchase permit. A few weeks later we went to another show and he helped me purchase a used S&W Semi Auto 22 pistol. By the time the year was over, I had purchased 3 guns, taken a couple of handgun classes and became a regular at the shooting range. Wow what a great way to relieve stress and have a good time! :D

I shot 22 lr as a boy. Reacently, the gang my step son got involved with got me and my better half into sidearms.

About a year ago I was working in 29 Palms with a bunch of former EOD guys digging up unexploded ordnance. They would take me shooting out in the badlands where our company rental house was. I had always been a big history buff so that was all the encouragement I needed to get my C&R and the rest was history. Other then me the only person in my extended family who owns guns is my grandfather. That means I got my work cut out for me :D

My father taught my brother and I to shoot purely for hunting purposes. I think my fascination with guns for other purposes has its roots in movie westerns, Louis L'Amour, and a belief in a person's right to defend themselves and, more importantly, the ones they love.

Shooting got me interested in shooting. I remember the smell of Burned powder at my first shooting session with a Rem. Mod. 40 Target Master. I was thrilled when I learned I could sight the rifle in and hit a target 50 yards away and further.

I remember the smell of Hoppes Nitro 9 when I cleaned the rifle. I remember the look of the gunmetal as I scrubbed it with a worn toothbrush. I remember the feel of the wood in my hand as I polished it with a bit of olive oil on a rag.

Learning to shoot is its own reward.

A few family members all helped to educate me first off my Uncle a Navy Seabee and rabid gun collector, my two older cousins both WW II sailors
But most of all my Dad a WW II combat veteran who fought in the Pacific.
He took me out shooting for the first time when I was only 8 years old with his old Winchester 94 deer rifle up in a box canyon, I never fired a .22 until I was 12.

I was born where you get a 22LR with every kid you have.
Dont remimber not having one.

My family has always hunted and fished.

Dad and both Grandfathers took my brother and me beginning when we were 6 or 7. First we got BB guns, then pellet rifles, shotguns, rimfire and centerfire rifles. My Dad had a Colt Challenger .22 pistol, but we rarely ever shot it. It just didn't have much attraction to kids who wanted to bring home game. Much easier to hunt with rifles or shotguns.
I really got into shooting handguns a few years ago when a co-worker mentioned that he had been to the range shooting his Glock. That got me to thinking that maybe it might be fun, It was and still is. Now a week isn't complete without a trip to the range with my pistols or revolvers. Got my CHL (concealed handgun license) about 7 years ago and that added a new dimension to my shooting.
