Kahr CM9 is an always gun, so special "yard gun" is not necessary.

Yes, I have 2. One is the beat up gen 2 Glock 23 that usually lives in the glove box of my jeep in a fobus paddle holster. I live adjacent to a large military installation, but the part of that base I live near is the ranges, training areas, and the like. It is also accessible to civilian traffic (protecting the ranges from terrorists stealing targets and such isn't a priority). As a result, local morons tend to dump/abandon dogs in the area. Many meet their end under Army trucks moving through the area, but others become wild, thus a Glock. So far, throwing rocks at them has made them run away, and I really don't care to shoot a dog, but I refuse to get bit by a stray dog if one is feeling froggy. I also have a rusty but functional stevens crack barrel 20 gauge that lives in my shed. In the last 2 months me and the GF have run across 6 snakes in the yard (in back of me is just woods). I have no idea why they want to hang out with me. 5 of them were harmless and escorted off the property, but 1 was a copperhead, which resulted in said shotgun being discharged by my fence.

Regardless what I am doing and where, I always keep a Ruger LCR .22LR in my front pants pocket. Most of the time, I also carry another piece IWB, but I am never without the little Ruger.

BOARHUNTER

I always have a decent sidearm on me, or at least on the workbench in arm's reach. There is no way to hide my career due to a detective car in the driveway, and too many people are targeting cops. So I live by the Viking rule of keeping a weapon within arm's reach at ALL times.

I use a Beretta 21 or Walther TPH, both .22. Low crime rate area and both are very nice pocket guns. I do carry a spare mag.

For trimming palms and spraying weeds, I carry a stun gun. I’ve been threatened by dogs a few times and one pop with that bright spark and scary buzz scares the crap out of them, even from 30 feet away. They don’t know what the hell it is, but they don’t want any.
I live on a lake and sometimes buzzards decide to nap under my trees. A shot with my Daisy 717 pellet gun chases them off real quick.
I do keep my EDC handy – XDs .45 – but I haven’t needed it. Yet.

Here I though I was odd for having a dedicated "yard gun". I indeed have one and have for years. Up until just recently, it was a Keltec P32 but has been replaced by the nearly-as-small Taurus TCP.

Same as my carry gun, and 'yard carry' was part of the selection. It's a KelTec PF9 with a belt clip, smallest lightest reliable & accurate 9mm I could find, I just swap to a mag with the first 2 being snake shot (Deep South) for yard carry & when I'm out walking the property.

It's so light it's easy to carry even in lightweight walking shorts.

i dont carry in the house or around the property. i have a decent sized property with a barn in that back but i just never think about carrying on the property.

I decided God meant for grass and weeds to grow . Not be cut down every few days . This year my yard has been trimmed 1 time with a weed eater . Love it the wild animals like it also . Down with yard work More time for shooting . Also reduces chances of break ends . A junk car in yard a broken down fridge or stove on porch. They move up street to a richer looking home .
There ya go! I cut my grass and weed whack every 2 to 3 weeks, depending on rainfall. Fortunately I live in the woods. Constant shade = slow growth. Lack of rainfall helps a lot. Common yard guns are a Snake Charmer .410 that I've had for over twenty years, An Airforce Talon SS .22 and a NAA Black Widow that I keep stoked with 2 LR snake shot and the rest regular .22s for copperheads. Garters get a pass. No violent daytime crime here. Some recent attempted break-ins but that's what the nightstand gun is for.
