If his math was right, and it sure wasn't as far as paying the debt was concerned, I vote for buying the island, starting a goverment based on the Consititution, and telling everyone who is unwilling to abide by it and contribute to society in some way, to stay out.

Shade? Lighter than some and darker than others. Proud descendant of immigrants who understood what America was. A place to be free, assimilate into (learn the language etc), work hard, contribute, etc.......or don't bother coming to.

Income? My business.

Guns? I have a few.

Political leaning? Libertarian

Lots of young folks at gun shows here. I used to be one of them. Now I am a middle aged gunshow participant.

At no point have I ever been asked my income, my ethnicity nor even my gender.

Right, someone created an entire site that lists the demographics of millions of sites so they could slip in an attack on the THR. Thankfully, you've just uncovered their clever plan to make it sound like this site is mainly frequented by middle class white guys.

In fact, I've discovered other sites that are in on this conspiracy.

Who could be behind such a thing? Surely a plan of this magnitude must be orchestrated by the Illuminati or Bilderberg Group. There is no way the minor league hacks at the Trilateral Commission or Bohemian Club could pull off such an endeavor.

While the accuracy of these statistics is certainly questionable, particularly without seeing their methodology, claiming it is a "critique of this community" rather baseless. When it comes down to it, these sites are just estimating data hoping to attract advertisers or web site providers to give them money in exchange for more information.
 
This shocks me that more younger people aren't into guns for the obvious reasons. Once this over 40-50-60 generation is gone, it's all over.

In the south, there are young people interested in guns. A good bit of them in fact. I'm 26 years old and I remember in elementary school talking about 870's and 30.06's.

Me too. But that could change in the future. Some advertising does not bother me as I often do business with the advertisers and would never even know they existed if not for the ads such as over at RimfireCentral.

IMO China and various realtors dealing in vacant islands would profit immensely from buying THR.org ad space.

I am not surprised. So many people who want to buy/sell a gun open an account, make their one post then leave.

Although I believe you're correct that there's not as many younger people into firearms as in generations past, the lack of participants of the age group at a gun show may be more of a cultural thing.

I'm 32 and have never been to a gun show, 90% of my browsing/research/fantasizing has been done on the web. Just a thought...
 
Shhhhhh.....don't tell Obama what we make or we'll be demonized as wealthy gun owners and they'll slap an excise tax on forum members.
BTW, were you using some kind of new math to figure out the National Debt and how long it would take forum members to pay it off?

I still contend the stats are made up ... so they're made up to trick advertisers into spending money with them instead of pushing a political agenda ... made up is still made up.

I'm not sure about your raise, I have a theory about where mine went. I think it went to that heavy-set girl who does our payroll. There ain't no way she could get that big without skimming money from somewhere, our boss is so cheap it takes a spud bar and a couple of pounds of explosive to get his wallet open.

I started shooting about age 12, liked it, but wasn't really all that serious about it
about age 30 I started getting a little bit serious
about age 40 I started getting real serious
it got "worse" about age 50, and "worser still" about age 60

life is a slow learning process
could be it just takes a while to appreciate the really good stuff
live and learn

the older I get (and the older the kids and grandkids get), the more guns there are in this family.. even the great-grand-kids have some (even though not aware of it, and definitely not serious about it yet)

me not worried about it
enjoy and teach :)
