Hey everyone
This is my first post in the shotgun forum. I have a Saiga-12 and I really enjoy it. I have many favorite shotguns, Ithaca M-37, Remington 870 to name a few. But there is something special about the Saiga-12. Mine is a 2004 with 22" barrel fixed full choke and I did the pistol grip conversion, using a century arms trigger group (from a WASR-10) Kvar black synthetic AK-74M buttstock. Centuryarms black pistol grip. Other than that I haven't modified it much but its going to get a bolt hold open in the future. I really need more mags for it though, I only have 2, 5 rounders!

No, Preach, I'm not going to be the manufacturer, but I'm going to carry them in the store and online. There are two companies working on 12 ga. mags. One a 10 shot sheet metal box, and the other a poly mag that looks like the original Russian 8 shot.

I love the Saiga. I've kind of been the Saiga champion on this board for a long time. Here is the synopsis of my ever increasing Saiga addiction:

1. Bought a Saiga 12 as an experiment.
2. Beat the living crap out of it. Couldn't make it malfunction.
3. Started to use it in 3gun competition. Did really really good.
4. Posted about it on THR with an in depth review. Love the gun.
5. Denny Hansen, editor at SWAT, read my postings here, and asked me to do some further testing and write a review for SWAT.
6. Kicked around the Saiga some more. Shot a large number of shells through it. SWAT published article.
7. EAA lost the importation rights. Saigas went away.
8. I opened a gun store.
9. RAAC became the new Saiga importer. The day I found out I signed up as a distributor.
10. FBMG is now one of the few Saiga distributors in the country. Saigas are back in the states, and my initial shipment is due to arrive any day now. We've teamed up with Tony Rumore of Tromix, and Tony is going to be doing all of our conversions. And Tony does insanely cool work. From this first batch Tony is going to make us some Saiga SBR and SBS demos, including a .308 Krinkov and a 8 inch barreled Saiga 12 ga. breaching gun. :D

Great news!! I am happy to see someone doing it. So is the $580 for the breaching gun just for the conversion with the buyer furnishing the shotgun or is that for the completed shotgun?

Russian American Armory Corp.

kngflp, that is for the work done onto the customer purchased gun.

Who loves the Saiga-12? Me.

Bought mine about a month ago. Took it to the trap range for a second time last week:

Ammunition: Federal 2 3/4", 1 1/8 oz target loads (Wal-Mart bulk pack)
Gas regulator setting: #1 (heavy loads, buck)
Rounds fired: 100
Failures: 0.00
Shoulder pain: none
Happiness: ongoing

This is a truly great semi-auto shotgun.

My saiga is a 2000 and imported by kalashnikov USA. I traded a norinco hunter for it in 2002 or so. I new I had to have one when I first heard about them (late 90's some time) Since then I have never looked back. I need another one of these fine firearms.

Also my GF loves it!!!!

I'll have to find the issue date and post it here. You can pull up old articles on the SWAT webpage in PDF format.

I didn't even realize there was a Saiga entry on Wikipedia. That is so cool. :)
