Who loves your .357 magnums?

I have four 357's. I love each one,. Shoot them also. I carry my Speed Six quite regular as my CCW. It is a boomer. But I know if I do my job, the weapon and round I use will do its.
I am a "Wheel Gun" shooter. I do own Glock and a 1911 ACP. But it is the six shooter that I really rely on.

My very first handgun was a blue vented Dan Wesson 15-2 that I picked up on my 21st birthday. Sold it when we had kids. :banghead:
Fast forward 30 years later... just picked one up again. Don't know why it took so long, but now that I have it back I won't be parting with it again.

That is a helluva first gun and I understand your qualms with selling it. Glad you got another.

Going off on a tangent, it is kind of like these pawn store shows nowadays; people selling their grandfather's WWII uniform or their mother's jewelry from her estate to get some gambling money. (no offense intended to you- wife, kids, I get it) Hell, I went on a cruise to Mexico and my Dad bought me a gold bracelet that I sold for weight when gold prices were shooting up in the mid 2000s- if I had it I still wouldn't wear it, but it would serve as a great memory; my Dad still tells stories about regretting selling his class ring..The jeweler said,"Are you sure son? I have to hit it with a hammer to get out the plastic jewel and weigh it." He nodded and saw it get smashed. :barf:

I would absolutely love to get a lever action in .357; I currently only have one in .30-30. I think the .357 would be a hoot! :D

Oh, the beauty, accuracy and noise of the .357 and they can eat .38 specials just for plinking. Some of mine, several 66's and a 27-2 on this trip.

That is a handsome collection of .357s sir! :what:

A pair of no dashes. M66 & M686. The "red ramp" on the M66 is Krylon flouro orange paint. :D

And how 'bout some love for the bull? My first wheelgun. '82 vintage Taurus 669. It actually performs very well and the finish is beautiful.

I own three currently (Colt, Ruger, S&W). I only shoot my Colt Trooper Mark III with any regularity. I like the revolver a lot, but I much prefer to shoot either 41 mags or 22's. Of late, it has mostly been 22's.

I loves my 357's. I think I have...

#2 Smith 686's, in 4" and 6"
#1 Smith 66 2.5"
#1Ruger GP100 4"
#1 Ruger SP101 2.25"

Hmm, looks like I'm down to 5.

i suppose this would be a good place to ask...

how well do the uberti/pietta etc reproductions go with full noise 38/357 loads?

I've found that I have a certain understanding with the .357 Mag. Thats not to say that there aren't certain few .44's around as well.

Although I weighed in on that other thread as drifting away from the magnums -- I have to say that if I was compelled to own only one handgun, it would likely be a .357 revolver -- prolly one of my 3-inchers (the S&W 65 or the S&W Pro-60):

These revolvers would allow me to shoot at pretty much any power level that I could reasonably expect to want to shoot -- from the mildest .38 target wadcutters to a 180-grain thumper...
