I'm finding myself in the market for a carbon fiber handled folding knife...Kershaw? Benchmade? Gerber? CRKT?

Received the Benchmade catalog in the mail the other day, and saw this beauty:

It's the Model 770, and I WANT IT! (I need a drooling smilie.)

For a carbon fiber / wood combo, I have the Model 690:

Runt - OMG! Thanks for the pic...Now I want one too...perhaps a group purchase? :D

Where can I get Benchmade stuff...CHEAP! :banghead:

Good call on the Benchmade 770. William Henry makes a very nice carbon fiber series although they're not hard-use knives - pretty cool, though.

Well, the Axis lock rocks, but I've never been too keen on CF as scale material. I owned a couple of the Spyderco CF knives but wasn't impressed and sold them. Maybe Benchmade does CF better though.

Spyderco makes some nice "limited runs" of their various models, but with CF scales. (You have to watch the shops. I believe the last run of 1500 CF scale knives was the "Police" model. I believe that the next run is going to be a CF "Delica" model~~and I am THERE on THAT one!) I'm looking at a CF "Dragonfly" right at this moment. I have a little SOG "Gent" that's very nice also. But the nicest carbon fiber scale knife I have by far, is a Klotzli, from Switzerland. Can't do a picture...wish I could.

Tease! :neener:

How do you find out about those limited runs? A CF Delica would be cool!

10-ring I have been eyeing that 770 for a while. BM also makes other cf-handled knives, but mostly limited edition, like the CF-balisongs ($400+) for your ultimate Filipinoness.

Rosanghal has some CF-gripped Emersons and I have seen some nice ones but rather not put money into custom knives yet.

Plaza Cutlery down here has the 770 and the 690, and Turner's has the 690, but I'll probably mail order to save $30. When you're ready we can order them, and split shipping.

I NEED a CF knife in my CF collection!

ah HA! Skunky!

I KNEW a good carbon fiber thread would catch your eyes! You DO need some CF knives!

10-Ring: You have to stop by your knife shop and look! Also a check of the "Blade Forums" wouldn't hurt anything eiter. The Blade Forums is how I found out that the next limited carbon fiber run will be the "Delica". Come to think of it, maybe I'd better just go over to Heimerdinger's Knife Shop tomorrow and put down a deposit. A carbon fiber Delica is something I don't want to miss. Delicas are just right, and 1500 go REALLY quickly.

Skunk, dude...

You need a Warren Thomas-designed carbon fiber Beretta Avenger to go with that Beretta wunderpistole of yours. Trust me... :D

If I wanted true Filipinoness, I'd have to go w/ the Bali-song...butterfly knife????? Then the fingers would really be flying! :what:

william henry rules!

2nd that opinion on WH's titanium frame w/clip at little over 1 oz....classic folder for the exec type who appreciates fine workmanship in a slim profile. 2 lenghths available from artist/craftsman from Santa Cruz. I believe this model won some "Knife-of-the-year" award in 1999.

Newest designs are models are more focused on limited collector series for the collector crowd. But I believe they''ll be noted 50 yrs. from now for the CF series. I'm hoping they'll bring out a top-of-the line fly fishing folder!
