well i found my ar15 and i thought about the price ranges in many of the ar15 i see on the net and in catologs. mine cost $755 and with shipping i think it was about $770.it was made by DPMS.

so who makes the best ar15. mine hasnt gotten rusty or anything then again it sits in my room without a mag in it.its never been shot once and i have a beta c drum magazine and want to get a lot of other extras.

soo what makes the best.are they all compatible with all diffrent kinds of accessories so long as they are made fore ar15? will one rust will one break after 2 years.

i would like the veiws of people who know guns were as i am ignorant of them.

This may sound crazy, but I think the first extra I'd put on it are some wear marks.

IMHO: Colt makes the gold standard Mil-Spec AR-15, although there are many other great brands.

CMMG, LMT, & Rock River are probably the only other ones that come close to Mil-Spec in all areas. I have never seen a Novekse but they are also highly regarded.

It all depends on what you're looking for.

If you're looking for a M4 style weapon then Colt is the gold standard, followed by Noveske and LMT.

I am going to post a chart that may help guide you if you're looking for a m4 style combat weapon - courtesy of rob_s.

Again, it all depends on what you're looking for. What kind of DPMS do you have?

To adapt Barack Obama's stupidest slogan...

You are the armorer you've been waiting for.:D

Who makes the best AR-15? You!

Buying the thing all put together just robs you of half the fun.

build it myself??i'm talking about the stuff inside the lower receiver.the springs and all.i planned on customizeing the rest. first i was gonna get a really good barrel then a quad rail forear.laser sight a new pistol grip and pistol foregrip. and what kind of scope....well i dont know what kind of scope i want.thats the plan although i'm probobly only gonna get the new rail and be 2 broke due to this economic crisis thats goin down

Well I'll say this, people may think Colt is the Gold standard, but if Colt thought they were the gold standard they'd have better than a 1 year warranty.

All three of mine are Frankenstiens. I built them with the best of all parts from pretty much every manufacturer out there. They are accurate and reliable. What more could you want?

I got a couple -
Got ripped on the Bushmaster, bought it during the ban. $1049.
Still even without the suppressor and lug, it's better than than CA legal crap. It's a straight shooter...

Last month got my new baby, a Rock River for $900-I love that 2 stage trigger and hogue grip. Finally got my flash suppressor and bayonet lug. I felt this one had the most bang for the buck.

Still my 1st love is my Springfield M1A.

I don't think that any AR will rusk or break after two years of sitting in your room not being shot.

Listen, don't get caught up in the hype of add-ons and accessories. Fill up that Beta C Mag with ammo, go to the range, and start unloading. You bought that gun to use it, didn't you? Why is it still just an ornament in your room?

If your gun goes bang every time and doesn't jam, then you have the best AR. Case closed.

this is another of your 15-years-old COD-4 fan question?
you found your ar15?....where was it, under the bed? i have read your other post and to be honest a collector with more than 20 weapons as you claim you are, should know how a drum works...but anyways...

to answer you question, i put them in this order.

1. Colt
2. LMT
3. CMMG

other good company are /Stag/RRA/bushmaster

stay away from vulcan.
